A general purpose library guide has been created as a first stop portal to support cultural competence teaching and learning. The guide “Cultural Competence Resources for Educators” is aimed at academics exploring cultural competence and undertaking curriculum and learning (re)designs.

It contains a combination of core resources for teaching, including short videos outlining the Sydney context, seminal and definitional literature on multicultural frameworks, specific resources for Indigenous Australian cultural competence and links to online professional development modules containing further resources.

The work of the National Centre for Cultural Competence (NCCC), the DVC(E) portfolio and teachers in disciplines and communities are included within this guide. This guide will be continually updated, as the university community continues to engage with cultural competence, and as more resources are created, for example the Aboriginal Sydney MOOC in 2017.

It was developed through a DVC(ISS) portfolio 2016 project for cultural competence, led by Educational Innovation, in collaboration with the Library & the NCCC. Your feedback on the utility of this guide is very welcome – please contact me at [email protected]
