Habib Moghimi

Media sociologist specializing in public sociology, visual sociology, and digital cultures. I am an associate editor for the Global Iranian Studies Review and the Media Thematic Group convenor for the Australian Sociological Association (TASA). Additionally, I have been a Head Tutor and Guest Lecturer at the University of Sydney (USYD) since 2018. My research explores Iranian cinema and the intersection of film, sociology, and publics, while drawing on sociological theory and creative methods. In 2022, I received the USYD Dean’s Citation for Excellence in Tutorials with Distinction and the USYD Faculty of Science Learning and Teaching Award for Outstanding Teaching. In 2024, I was recognized as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
