A Roundtable at the University of Tasmania on 31st January 2017 will launch Wendy Green’s Engaging Students as Partners in Global Learning Fellowship. It will bring together national and international experts and colleagues who are interested in exploring how staff and students can work together as active, critical, and agentic partners in learning and teaching in the interconnected, multicultural societies of the 21st century. The Roundtable is open to all interested staff and students.
The Roundtable will be followed by a Workshop on 1st February 2017. The Workshop is open to all those staff and students who would like to lead or contribute to small pilot projects that engage students as partners in global learning. The workshop will enable participants to reflect on and review our current practices, imagine new possibilities, generate ideas and plan pilot projects. There will be opportunities to plan joint projects with other participants at the workshop. The projects will ideally be conducted throughout 2017. Those participating in the workshop and undertaking pilot projects will be invited to present at the final event for the Fellowship, a Symposium in October 2017.
Professor Mick Healey (Healey HE Consultants, UK), Professor Betty Leask (La Trobe University) and Dr Kelly Matthews (University of Queensland) are among the national and international experts who will present and contribute to both events.
