Hongzhi (Veronica) Yang

Hongzhi (Veronica) Yang

Hongzhi (Veronica) is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Education and Social Work with a specialisation in Languages education in the Teacher Education program. She is a core member of theCentre for Artificial Intelligence, Trust, and Governance. Dr Yang’s research lies at the intersection of teacher education and language education, with two interrelated strands. The first investigates the complex relationship between teachers’ emotions, agency, and knowledge building. This work has led to the development of an integrated conceptual framework that connects agency, knowledge, and emotions in teacher professional learning. The second strand of her research focuses on digital innovation in education. Dr Yang adopts a technology-supported formative intervention design to enhance students’ transformative agency in expansive learning environments. These innovations have been recognised through competitive funding, including the Centre for AI, Trust and Governance Seed Funding, and have been published in leading international journals such as Teaching and Teacher Education, Education and Information Technologies, and System.
