Transition

Creating a transformational, student-centred education experience is a key aspiration of our Sydney in 2032 Strategy. Central to this is our commitment to closing equity gaps and supporting students from under-represented backgrounds to thrive. This focus aligns with the Australian Universities Accord Final Report, which calls for structured, proactive support so that students are not left to navigate their learning journey alone, particularly in the early years.
The University continues to draw on Kift’s six curriculum principles of transition pedagogy (Kift 2025) to intentionally design for student success. These principles guide our approach to creating an inclusive, supportive and engaging experience for all students:
- Support positive transitions
- Anticipate, respect and accommodate diversity by default
- Assure intentional, inclusive, scaffolded curriculum by design
- Enable engagement, belonging and relation-ship rich education
- Design inclusive, authentic and appropriately programmatic assessment
- Evaluation and monitoring for quality assurance, quality improvement and timely support provision.
