Generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, when employed to support learners in assessment can lead to improvements in their writing and understanding of AI capabilities. However, concerns about academic integrity and diminishing writing skills of their own also emerge in higher educational contexts. The approach presented aims to cultivate critical engagement with AI among students by encouraging reflective thinking and fostering AI-literacy through scaffolds. By balancing the advantages and drawbacks, it helps promote responsible use of AI in education.
