[3A2] Zoonotic Viruses and Zoom: How the Pandemic Redefined Clinical Education

During the Covid-19 pandemic, dental teaching clinics were closed and students were locked out of clinical learning. Faced with lockdown, a group of clinical academics devised team a-based teaching approach to maintain clinical teaching remotely using Zoom. We created scripts and sharpened our acting skills to present engaging, real-life scenarios of patient-dentist interactions. By utilising a team-based teaching approach to support the Covid generation we as educators benefited from the regular (weekly) social, intellectual, and creative collaboration as we developed the cases. Elements of this program continue to be used even as dental education slowly returns to “normal” as these clinics are excellent adjunct learning environment and the range of online multimedia resources developed can be accessed for student led learning.
