Design clear, learning-aligned assessment rubrics and implement them effectively in Canvas. Participants will explore how well-designed rubrics support transparency, consistency, and feedback, in alignment with the University of Sydney Assessment Framework.

 

This workshop is for you if you need to: 

Write, develop or refine your assessment rubrics. 

Get help implementing your rubrics in Canvas to enable marking in SpeedGrader. 

Develop your understanding of how Canvas can support use of rubrics for student learning and feedback.   

 

Learning goals: 

Awareness of how rubrics can be used to support student development of assessment literacy. 

Understand how rubrics can increase coordination and marking efficiency. 

Understand the capacity Canvas/SpeedGrader to support marking and provide feedback. 

  

We will cover: 

Setting up Canvas rubric using your criteria and standards of performance 

Using the variety of rubric weighting features in Canvas 

Providing students with feedback in SpeedGrader 

Canvas rubrics and your Markbook 

Using an AI Rubric assistant 

• There will be an opportunity for optional additional 30 minutes guided practice at the end.
