SEFP - Introductions to fellowship and transition to PSF 2023

Friday 21 February 2025

This 60min workshop introduces applicants to the Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and Supporting Learning in Higher Education (PSF 2023). The workshop will introduce the genre of writing expected for all categories of fellowship and provide an opportunity to meet other applicants and fellows from schools and faculties who are either applying for or supporting others in seeking fellowship recognition this year.

This workshop cover:

  1. Identifying the Descriptor that best meets your practice
  2. Mapping your practice to PSF 2023
  3. Writing for Fellowship - the genre and style of a Reflective Account of Professional Practice
  4. The importance of evidence of effective and inclusive practice
  5. The inclusion of scholarly literature
  6. Q&A

This workshop also provides an opportunity to check with the SEFP program team whether your current experience meets the category you are submitting for. Some staff will find that their practice sits on the boundaries of two categories. For example, the AHE Fellowship Category Tool might indicate that you are between Descriptor 1 AF and Descriptor 2 F. In cases like this, you need to decide whether to (a) accrue more evidence and apply for F, potentially delaying submission or (b) apply for AF in the current round. What is possible in this case will depend on the nature of your role and the opportunity your role affords you in meeting the specifics of the Descriptor and the Dimensions of Practice.
