{"id":4431,"name":"Jiva Lamsal","url":"","description":"Dr Jiva Nath Lamsal earned his PhD in 2023 from the Discipline of Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Sydney. During his doctoral studies and since completing his PhD, he has served as a sessional academic across multiple disciplines, including English and Writing Studies, Asian Studies, and the foundational unit FASS1000: Studying Arts and Social Sciences. \r\n\r\nPrior to commencing his PhD in 2019, Dr Lamsal held a lectureship at the Central Department of English, Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, Nepal, where he also completed his MA and MPhil degrees. His research explores South Asian theatre and performance practices that extend beyond conventional theatrical spaces, focusing on the intersections of performance, political processes, and ritual\/festival events. Currently, he is working on how insights of performance studies can be mobilised in the writing classroom.\r\n\r\nTheoretically, Dr Lamsal\u2019s work bridges Anthropology and Performance Studies, offering interdisciplinary insights into cultural expression and social transformation on the one hand and use of performance studies in the teaching of writing and rhetoric .
