It will present innovative practices, which engage students, academics and other university staff as active partners in learning and teaching in the interconnected, multicultural societies of the 21st century.<\/p>\n<p>Keynote speakers include:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.latrobe.edu.au\/ltlt\/about\/staff-profiles\/profile?uname=BLeask\">Professor Betty Leask<\/a>\u00a0(La Trobe University),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/findanexpert.unimelb.edu.au\/display\/person57282\">Professor Fazal Rizvi<\/a>\u00a0(Melbourne University) and <a href=\"https:\/\/au.linkedin.com\/in\/arfa-noor-bbb2b125\">Arfa Noor<\/a> (past President of Council of International Students Australia).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date:<\/strong> 9th\u00a0October 2017<br \/>\n<strong>Place:<\/strong> University of Tasmania, Hobart, Tasmania<br \/>\n<strong>Registration:<\/strong> The Symposium is free and open to all (students and staff).<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com.au\/e\/national-symposium-engaging-students-as-partners-in-global-learning-registration-36674770225\" class=\"sc-button bg-red color-white\" target=\"_blank\">\r\n\t\t\t   \t\t<span>Register<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t    <\/a>\n<p>Registration closes on 2nd October 2017.<\/p>\n<p>This event is supported by Wendy Green\u2019s\u00a0Australian Learning and Teaching Fellowship on\u00a0Engaging students as partners in global learning.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Call for papers \u2013 Journal of Studies in International Education Special Issue 2019<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Title of Special Issue: Engaging students in internationalisation.<\/p>\n<p>This Special Issue in the will draw on new ways of thinking about student engagement, which position students as active, critical, and agentic contributors to all aspects of university life in our globalised, interconnected world.<\/p>\n<p>Considerations of student engagement in the formal curriculum, co-curricular programs and informal opportunities for learning, such as social clubs and student housing, are all invited. Explorations of students\u2019 active engagement in different contexts &#8211; at home and abroad &#8211; are equally welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Contributions may address practical, strategic, conceptual, and\/or theoretical concerns about student engagement in internationalisation, and employ a range of methodological approaches. The questions discussed in this Special Issue may include, but will not be limited to the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What does \u2018student engagement\u2019 in internationalisation mean, and how is it enacted in different cultural, national and regional contexts?
