The new version is known as &#8220;<strong>Turnitin: Feedback Studio<\/strong>&#8221; and is now the default view you will see when logging in to the Turnitin document viewer. Users are given a brief tour of the new layout when logging in for the first time and are given the option of toggling between versions until\u00a0July 2017.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What has changed?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3368 size-full alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/sydney.edu.au\/education-portfolio\/ei\/teaching@sydney\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/turnitin.jpg\" alt=\"Turnitin Feedback Studio Buttons\" width=\"47\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Turnitin has produced a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tIKjBzJIe2g\" target=\"_blank\">helpful video<\/a>\u00a0(opens in new tab) that outlines the main differences between the versions. The two most prominent are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The new name<\/strong>: <strong>Turnitin: Feedback Studio<\/strong>, which more accurately reflects what the tool can be used for. It&#8217;s not just a similarity detection tool. It can also be used to provide targeted and useful feedback (both written and audible) to students.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The layout:<\/strong>\u00a0The feedback buttons are\u00a0now located together on the right hand side of the document viewer screen (see the image to the right), under the <strong>layers<\/strong>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Instructor Feedback<\/span>\u00a0and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Similarity.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Selecting these buttons expands and contracts the corresponding layer for Quickmarks, Feedback Summary, rubrics and the similarity detection tools. Staff will see additional buttons for <span style=\"color: #808080;\">download<span style=\"color: #000000;\">, and<\/span> submission details.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tIKjBzJIe2g\" target=\"_blank\">The Turnitin Classic vs Feedback Studio video<\/a>\u00a0provides further details.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>What stays the same?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Most of the existing functionality will not change. Some of the key Learning Management System (LMS)\/Turnitin processes that will continue as usual are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Setting up a new Turnitin assignment through the LMS<\/li>\n<li>Editing an existing assignment&#8217;s criteria and settings<\/li>\n<li>The Turnitin assignment inbox (which provides an overview of the submission details of a student cohort including similarity scores, grades, paper IDs and submission dates)<\/li>\n<li>Student access to My Grades\/Feedback on the LMS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>For more information<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Watch the video below and practice using the new interface with the <a href=\"http:\/\/turnitin.com\/assets\/en_us\/media\/feedback-studio-demo\/\" target=\"_blank\">Interactive demo<\/a>.
