The University of Sydney and Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET) have partnered to bring you this year’s Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Symposium<\/strong>. This year’s theme is\u00a0Navigating Authentic Assessment and Learning in a Digital World<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and we have a great line up of presenters from across the globe including Australia, Canada, Ireland, the UK and the United States.<\/p>\n

Our keynote speaker is Dr Se\u00e1n Bracken<\/a>, Principal Lecturer at the University of Worcester, UK, and co-founder of the International Collaboratory for Leadership in Universally Designed Education (INCLUDE)<\/a>.\u00a0Se\u00e1n\u00a0will open the Symposium speaking on navigating UDL implementation at an institutional level and deliver a closing address on the importance of empowering learner agency.<\/span><\/p>\n

The UDL Symposium is relevant for academic and professional staff as well as students, as it is an opportunity to share and showcase knowledge and expertise in UDL and enhance inclusive learning experiences and educational accessibility. This aligns with the University’s commitment\u00a0to deliver transformational, student-focused education that embraces equity, diversity and inclusion as outlined in the\u00a02032 Strategy<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, with the introduction of the new Sydney Assessment Framework<\/a>, there are multiple opportunities throughout the event to engage with innovative approaches to authentic assessment and to examine the intersection of AI and UDL principles to enhance inclusive learning experiences.<\/p>\n
