{"id":1766,"date":"2016-06-20T00:05:42","date_gmt":"2016-06-19T14:05:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sydney.edu.au\/education-portfolio\/ei\/teaching@sydney\/?p=1766"},"modified":"2016-08-01T11:23:52","modified_gmt":"2016-08-01T01:23:52","slug":"edtech-news-lecture-recording-change-student-names-appear-lms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/educational-innovation.sydney.edu.au\/teaching@sydney\/edtech-news-lecture-recording-change-student-names-appear-lms\/","title":{"rendered":"EdTech News: Lecture recording and a change to how student names appear in the LMS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are some small changes to lecture recording and the LMS for semester 2.<\/p>\n<p>First, if there are two\u00a0screens in your lecture theatre, you can now record both of them when you are making your lecture\u00a0recording.\u00a0If you wish to record both screens log into the <a href=\"https:\/\/bookings-streaming.sydney.edu.au\/\">lecture booking system<\/a>, select your\u00a0booking, select Delivery Settings and if dual recording is available you\u2019ll be able to select this option.<\/p>\n<p>Second, any class held in a room that has its type listed as\u00a0\u2018seminar&#8217; or\u00a0\u2018lecture&#8217; will now be recorded by default. Information on room type is listed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.timetable.usyd.edu.au\/menu.jsp?siteMap=true\">timetabling system<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In LMS news, from the beginning of next semester,\u00a0students&#8217; names\u00a0displayed in the LMS will be the names they provided as\u00a0\u2018preferred\u2019\u00a0in their enrolment data.\u00a0So if they have provided a preferred first name that is not the same as their\u00a0\u2018official&#8217; enrolled name, it will be the preferred name that is seen in the LMS; their\u00a0\u2018official\u2019 name will not appear.\u00a0For assessments, student ID can be used to identify students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are some small changes to lecture recording and the LMS for semester 2.
