{"id":1662,"date":"2016-04-26T23:32:18","date_gmt":"2016-04-26T13:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sydney.edu.au\/education-portfolio\/ei\/teaching@sydney\/?p=1662"},"modified":"2016-08-01T11:25:31","modified_gmt":"2016-08-01T01:25:31","slug":"uncertainty-around-future-olt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/educational-innovation.sydney.edu.au\/teaching@sydney\/uncertainty-around-future-olt\/","title":{"rendered":"Uncertainty around the future of the OLT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since the establishment of the Office for Learning and Teaching in 2012 Australian universities have <span class=\"scayt-misspell-word\" data-scayt-word=\"benefitted\" data-scayt-lang=\"en_GB\">benefitted<\/span> from its awards, grants and fellowship <span class=\"scayt-misspell-word\" data-scayt-word=\"programs\" data-scayt-lang=\"en_GB\">programs<\/span> and strategic development papers, which have provided resources and support for educational excellence and innovation. This is no doubt one of the reasons why Australian university teaching is well regarded internationally in teaching and learning innovation.<\/p>\n<p>Teaching at The University of Sydney has <span class=\"scayt-misspell-word\" data-scayt-word=\"benefitted\" data-scayt-lang=\"en_GB\">benefitted<\/span> from both the national initiatives and the awards and grants awarded to staff at this university: <a href=\"http:\/\/sydney.edu.au\/education-portfolio\/ei\/awards\/pastwinners_altc_citations.htm\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/sydney.edu.au\/education-portfolio\/ei\/awards\/pastwinners_altc_citations.htm\">past winners<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/sydney.edu.au\/education-portfolio\/ei\/awards\/successful_grant_proposals.htm\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/sydney.edu.au\/education-portfolio\/ei\/awards\/successful_grant_proposals.htm\">successful grant proposals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.communityrun.org\/petitions\/save-the-olt-or-act-on-prof-milbourne-s-report\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.communityrun.org\/petitions\/save-the-olt-or-act-on-prof-milbourne-s-report\">petition<\/a>\u00a0to save the funding for the OLT has been launched, as there has been no action on the recommendation in\u00a0the 2015 review of the\u00a0OLT\u00a0to create a successor organization.
