Creating inclusive learning environments and experiences is an important part of providing all<\/strong> <\/em>students with equal opportunities to learn. However, how to translate this big idea into the practicalities of teaching and learning is not always clear or straightforward.<\/p>\n

To help bridge the gap between idea and action, on Monday 29 November and Friday 03 December the University is running the 2021 Sydney\u00a0<\/strong>Universal Design for Learning forum<\/strong>. Join colleagues from across the university to discuss new resources and approaches created to support all educators embed\u00a0Universal Design for Learning (UDL)<\/a>\u00a0into their teaching.<\/p>\n

The forum will focus on the practical aspects of UDL and highlight simple but effective approaches to create inclusive, accessible learning experiences in which all students can excel.<\/p>\n

You can register for the forum workshops at the links below.\u00a0Each workshop is standalone, so you can register just for one or you can attend all.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 1 – Monday 29 Nov 2021<\/h2>\n

Workshop 1 – Introduction to UDL (9 am, 1 hr)<\/h3>\n

This workshop introduces the UDL project that was created in the Faculty of Medicine and Health. Presenters include Dr Andy Smidt who devised the current project, Sarah Humphreys, and a range of other speakers who will introduce the key concepts of UDL within the university sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

This workshop is suitable for people who have not yet attended any of the previous workshops and who know little about UDL<\/span><\/p>\n
