It is designed to:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2714 Develop targeted information literacy skills\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2714\u00a0<span data-contrast=\"none\">Enhance the quality of the work students submit<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2714 Reduce the need for remedial support from academic staff<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">While the course develops skills in finding, using and evaluating information using Arts and Social Science examples, the foundation concepts explored are useful for students in any discipline.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Almost 70% of students that responded to the course survey in 2019 said that LIBR1000 would be useful for their future studies.
