Join us on Tuesday 16 July 2024 for the annual Sydney Teaching Symposium. This popular event highlights approaches to teaching and assessment developed by colleagues across the University which are practical, transferable, and student-centred.<\/p>\n

This year, the symposium’s theme is <\/strong><\/span>‘Imagining higher education for all<\/i><\/strong>‘<\/strong> and we are looking forward to hearing from colleagues to share their practices especially as it relates to this.
<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n

Our keynote speaker is Professor Sarah O’Shea from Charles Sturt University who is known across Australia for her work in supporting students as they move through university. She will help us
<\/span>unpack the student journey to highlight its complex and manifold nature.<\/span><\/p>\n

Symposium details<\/h2>\n

Date:<\/span><\/b> Tuesday 16 July 2024 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm AEST<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n

Venue:<\/span><\/b> Face-to-face on Camperdown campus. A Zoom option will be available for some sessions. Venue and Zoom details will be emailed to registrants the day before the symposium.<\/span><\/p>\n

Audience:<\/span><\/b> University of Sydney staff and students, as well as staff from other higher education institutions.<\/span>

About Sarah O’Shea<\/span><\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a>Professor Sarah O’Shea<\/a> is a nationally and internationally recognised educator and researcher, who applies sociological perspectives to the study of higher education equity. Over her career, Sarah has held numerous university leadership positions across the Australian higher education sector, contributing to Government policy and university practice. Her work has been recognised international and national awards and fellowships, she is currently an Australian Learning and Teaching Fellow, a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a Churchill Fellow.<\/span>
